Came a little bit late...

Saverin made two fatal errors - business (he should be in charge) and the advertising, and he did not move to Palo Alto. The first accidental billionaire is Saverin - worth 1.5B and worked for Facebook for FB - part time.

Mark/Jobs are not about the money - but about the creation of an idea and bring it to reality. He is motivated to make something to happen. He still wants to play down advertising. Trying to avoid the potential offense of excessive advertising. He had an idea - wanted to build products that were about sharing and transparency.

Why had FB succeeded where MySpace has failed - MySpace never followed up - not technology driven. MySpace was driven as a media company. Single biggest reason - technical mindset. Zuckerberg continually changes Facebook to avoid people coming up his tailpipe. FB was about solutions not about dating like Friendster and MySpace.

That Facebook stumbled into "real identity" is one of their greatest successes. To this day - the only place you place your real names.
