Sanford Dickert, Social Engineer

What happens when you combine engineering, communications and psychology into a single person?

Friday, January 27

Mr. Anderson, so nice to meet you...

Sitting in a bar (Rue 57, to be exact) and chatting about the profiling capabilities of google - and the bartender (Andrew) had a great vision 20 years from now:

[August 2021: Two men dressed in black, with official looking badges meet you]

"Mr. Anderson, would you please to come to the police station with us?"

[You humbly join them in their Lexus and drive to the station. They lead you into an interogation room...]

"Please - take a seat."

[One officer pulls out a file from a drawer in the wall. Electric paper flashes with thousands of pages of content as he leafs through the contents. He shuts the file and the familiar 'google' logo is found on the front.]

"We have been watching you, Mr. Anderson - and we have some questions about your whereabouts in 2006. On January 25th, 2006, you were seen frequenting the seedier side of the 'net - hanging about with some more unsavory character sets. What were you doing there? Do you have anything to say for yourself?"

[You begin to stammer...]

"But sir, I was nowhere near that part of the Internet - that was fifteen years ago!"

Getting somewhat scary, huh? Or what about the futures proposed by Business 2.0 in this month's issue?
